Chocolate Chip Cookies
Objective:
Make and bake chocolate chip cookies
Recipe:
2 sticks (1 cup) butter Remove from fridge, let soften at room temp for 30mins Adjust oven racks: 1 rack above middle, 1 rack below middle Preheat oven: 375 degrees 2 1/4 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt Combine in a small mixing bowl, creating a dry-mixture 3/4 cup granulated sugar 3/4 cup packed brown sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Cream butter and sugar together in large bowl until smooth Use hand mixer or stand mixer if available. 2 eggs Beat eggs one at a time, encorporating them into the wet mixture. Add 1/3 dry-mixture to wet mixture large large bowl Beat to combine, gradually encorporate the remaining dry-mixture. 2 cups (12 ounces) Nestle Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels Stir in 2 baking sheets, ungreased or lined with parchment paper Scoop 2 tablespoon sized balls of dough and drop onto sheet. Bake at 375 Swap trays between upper/lower racks half way through (5minutes) Remove when golden brown. (9-11 minutes total) Cool on baking sheets (2 minutes). 2 wire cooling racks Cookie Spatula Move cookies from baking sheet onto wire racks using spatula Let cookies cool. Store in sealed container.

This is the Original Nestlé Toll House Recipe re-written into my linear recipe style.
It includes one additional step not present in the original: swapping the cookie trays between the upper and lower oven racks. This results in a more consistent cookies when baking two trays worth at a time.
It was the first non-cocktail recipe added to the site.
